The Lemon Drop Kid is a New York swindler. He’s in Florida doing a con at a racetrack. He gets Moose Moran angry and has to pay him [Moose] $10,000 by Christmas Eve or else. He comes up with a scheme to raise money for a charity that he makes up “Nellie Thursday Home For Old Dolls”. The rest is a comedy farce that will keep you laughing, especially when they are getting the new residents settled in at the Home.

On of my favorite scenes is when Bob Hope returns to NY in the middle of winter. He’s on the street in a blizzard and steals a sweater off a dog named FiFi. Then he goes inside the apartment building to warm up. It’s really cute and a typical Bob Hope moment.
